Problem is he's just talking total poop - period

For staters if you have an employee sick - they only get SSP

Van repairs ? - part of any Biz - mind you if your driving about in a sh!tty old VW - what else would you expect

Rain - Never work in rain - how many days lost to rain - well yes it been a bad one - total of 3 days since Jan (Gosh!)

For someone trying to sell work at £100+ an hour all the above shouldn't even touch the sides - button course the reek of the runny brown stuff just flows - like in our rivers

employees can and do work as hard as the owner - they like to earn the £££'s as well - but there are those on here who simply don't understand business

That’s quite an effort for someone that’s not bothered about a silly troll 😂,he’s even said it himself Dazza he knows someone that built a decent business but couldn’t get rid of it.
I’ve said it so many times people don’t see it as a proper business it’s more like a when are getting a proper job or between job thing,it’s cleaning windows how hard can it be.
It hasn’t lost this attitude all the time I’ve been doing it,why do you think people won’t buy a round for sensible money.

And it doesn’t touch the sides ££ wise I’m looking at it from a business standpoint if you were trying to run it to the nearest £ you need capital,I could always rent a van with an ionic system in it for a grand month 🤣 taxable though lol.

Have you ever employed Stoots I’m not sure you have m8 but those figures don’t add up to anywhere near enough,in this game you can’t guarantee you will work everyday that’s why people on here that do employ are hellbent on working in terrible conditions weather wise coz they have to.
Earn 300 next day you don’t work that previous day gets chopped in half so on and so forth for subsequent days off,
I had 1 month last year that I had to pay a months wages coz he was sick unexpected van repairs, the month before 2k to Grippa lol,the best scenario is stay small get someone working full time and take a part time wage for doing nothing 🤣,

This here is the realistic stuff that can happen. I've kept an eye on the running costs and I'm realising how much it costs to run a business.

That's a dream in a small way working pt doing nothing lol, you can't make ends meet working/earning pt though in this day and age.

The problem you have mate is you talking about the north as if its the south.

I understand you work in an affluent area charging affluent prices.

I dont think you've managed to grasp the north/south divide. You act as though it doesn't exist which is understandable as if you've always eaten caviar then I guess you assume everyone does lol

25k up here isn't a part time wage, it's a very respectable income. I dont know many people earning that it's enough to get you a reasonable standard of living.

350 a day should be plenty. 150 to cover wages and all costs 200 in pre tax profit.

£25k after tax is take home of £1700 it is an AVG wage up here for a low skilled job but it's not even paying the basics.. rent is on avg £700 pm mortgages now apparently £1k you JUST pay bills on that I think.
My wife at best can work PT once both kids are in school so £25k is nowhere near enough for a family imo.
Maybe I'm unrealistic here but I hoped to build a business an it be able to give me a decent family income as a minimum and to be able to grow to a few vans and have a comfortable living as a business owner but atm it's a job at best.

That depends what ends you need to meet.

I work maybe 20 to 25 hours a week on the glass and don't struggle .

If you did vat threshold 85k and paid someone 25k

That's 60k for the business/you. Which is probably more than an average sole operator window cleaner does on his own. You'd probably only need to work a day or 2 a week.

If you have  4 kids a massive mortgage, van finance, cars on lease, take holidays with floating beans and have no other household income then maybe it's tight.

For someone else with a small or no mortgage, a partner who also brings in and income, kids left home and no need for an extravagant lifestyle then you can live very comfortably.

So it depends.

15-1700 a month take home is a Nurses wage and is a ridiculous amount to pay someone to do a manual job, they won’t last 3-6 months.
Good luck trying to live on 25k a year.

That’s the other thing round the corner people seemed to have forgotten about Autumn 🍂 then winter, window cleaning will be part of tightening their belts and be less frequent over the winter months.
I can’t see this coming year not being affected for maybe the first time ever over any recession previously, good luck employing at the moment I wouldn’t say it was a good time.

It also makes me realise £25k employee wage isn't too great for them either unless they don't have a family etc so I prob have to rethink that too.

I'm currently self employed and want to build a business and do better for myself.

The thing is I think after doing the numbers that the only way to do it is charge so much to my existing 400 customers so that I can afford to finance a van and system and pay someone £25k to do the work while I focus on canvassing and running things off the tools. All while providing for my young family as my wife is on mat leave and doesn't have a highly paid job to go back to.
Most window cleaners around me charge between £10-16 for a 3bed semi. I'd need to be atleast £20 and I don't think it would ever work.

Getting enough work for yourself is the easy part it's expanding that's difficult because it's all such a price sensitive industry.

If you have a multivan business how have you done it? And how would you do it in my scenario being the sole bread winner?
DM me if you prefer

You really need to speak to Lee Pryor as he's done it and become a very successful businessman.

Ignore everyone else on this thread.
price higher/work harder!

If you have 400 jobs at £15 a month , that would be £6000 a month £72 000 a year . I would buy that run . Presume not all work is £15 a go

⬆️ would you lol well I couldn’t sell 40 odd jobs that made that and more with more work like it to follow, all documented backup if needed.
They all said they wanted it thing is the only thing missing was the money to obtain it 🤣🤣, I’d have bought that run lol hearing that again gave me an instant sweat.
