New gx 390
« on: July 27, 2023, 04:23:40 pm »
Bought new pw few weeks ago.  Not had a load of use but did have few teething problems at start which is unusual for me with anything with a honda badge. Today I noticed the suction hose was warm, quite warm to be honest.  Now washer was in shade, exhaust was pointing nowhere near and usual stuff all seemed fine but then I checked water in barrell and it was warm. Now water out of tap was cold . Anybody any ideas?

Are you recirculating back to your tank when you let go of the trigger?

Depending on the size of your buffer tank it will warm up with return water but would have to be a small amount of water re circulating for a long time to get hot , never personally experienced this

I doubt it will be the engine - possibly a pump issue - what make ?

Just wondering is it the start of something going wrong..... I had issues with it cutting out at start. Crowd I bought it off done little bit of troubleshooting and it sorted it out.  I was considering buying cheaper model but paid bit extra for the Honda badge so didn't expect any issues. My original washer I got from Rutland going fine really bar few probably to be expected things over the years.

As I said it won't be the engine - never had a comet pump - have you run the machine and checked how hot the water is on the return to tank line - do this for a few minutes - if it cold then gets warm/hot I would suspect a recirculation problem
