I think my van crash has irritated me a bit inasmuch as I think if I can continue cleaning in more trying circumstances then why should I continue for bad payers or those that have got worse recently.
I have just dropped (though they don't know it yet) a customer that on paper was a good middle to upper sized domestic at £45.00
It started as a turn up and do when I liked but then continued building work meant to leave the backs for three cleans which was okay as I knocked ten quid off the bill each time.
Then in January they didn't pay for six weeks.
They also have a nervous rescue dog which outside of winter is often in the back garden and it is no bother to me but it howls from the moment I arrive until I leave.
In March the guy says could I tell them I'm coming so they can put the dog in. I did it once and it worked okay but then I didn't get paid.
So I was due to go last week but decided I would get payment and dump.
I sent a reminder for payment and said it was due to be cleaned in two days time.
I got an apology and payment and asked if I could leave cleaning it for two weeks due to the weather. (That's a dumping offence on its own!)
I texted back thanking them for payment and said I would need to check my schedules as to rearranging.
They're dumped.
Shame really. When it was 'on song' it was £45 for 45 minutes steady work with customers either side.
But they don't appreciate my service enough so bye bye.
I turned up to a job last week, been cleaning it years it's an easy well paying job. It just irks me that I have to park in a muddy car park ( it at the side of a canal). I've put up with getting my hose, boots and van blathered in mud for years...
Pulled up as usual and just decided today was the day I'm gonna dump it, I just couldn't be bothered with it, last job of the day i wanted to get home to do something else. Just not in the mood..i got out, sighed a bit, got back in and drove off
I just want to park outside and pull my hose out these days I have zero tolerance for anything that puts me out.
I dumped another week before because I have to park on a bend on a main road and it's just dangerous, awkward and I dont want my new van smashing into.
So many reasons to dump. But then if I went through my entire round I could pick fault with half of them but I'm getting really fussy.
