I took on a new job last month ago from a walk up and last night I received a message from him, it read...........

" I am disappointed with the result of your window cleaning. The bathroom window had a line of something and since you have been it has sprayed onto the lower window" .

my reply ......

"That was a month ago??"

then he text back ..........

"I know I should have said earlier , but everything takes me an age"

up to now  I have not replied to his last text,if he sends me a message saying why have you not replied my response  will be

"sorry but everything takes me an age"

suffice to say I have taken him off the round

I would give him another chance and see what happens on the next clean.

I would have gone and had a look to see what the issue is but it’s no good him complaining weeks after a clean if it’s within 24 hours and there is a problem we would re clean , if it’s him then it’s a dump .

I would of phoned him up straight away to see what the hell he was on about and got it sorted....

So many window cleaners just play text tennis back and forth when an actual conversation on the phone can clear up any misunderstandings/problems...

They only wanted a 1 off clean but trying to let you carry the blame. You've been doing this a long time and know your quality standards. As others have said, leaving a complaint for 4 weeks before saying anything doesn't carry any substance at all and can only be taken with the proverbial pinch of salt.

Personally, I would thank him for the opportunity to be of service to him and apologize that your service wasn't up to his expectations. Be pleasant, but I wouldn't waste another second of my time with him. But that's me.

Personally, I would have gone round and beat him to within an inch of his life! Twice!
