Changing filters
« on: May 02, 2023, 09:46:27 am »
Going to check out and possibly change the filters on RO today.
Just wondered if there is any visible indicators on them that they need changing or not, discoloration etc.
Got the HF4 Pure Freedom set up with booster pump and had it 6 months now.
Use about 3500 litres a month so around 7000 litres goes through it a month.
Still hitting the Di vessel at anything between 2 and sometimes zero....TDS at the moment is around 80 but it shoots up in Summer.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Not really - the pre filters usually give you a volume of water they can process before requiring changing.

Sediment filters usually go a nice rust colour  ;D - Carbon - no visible change - but failure to change could lead to harmful chemicals reaching your membrane

Yes they recommend 4 monthly but I only do12/13 days a month now........so usually try and knock it all out and have about 7 to 10 days off a month plus w/e.......I flush it through with pure when leaving it for any length of time so when it's stood idle the water inside is at 0 tds.
