Garlic isn't French. They just use it in everything. Even bread. Which is a pain.

Different levels of trim and slight cockpit changes. Different size steering wheels but the basic vans are the same. Produced by the same group.
I have a brand new Proace City. Same as the Berlingo etc but without Toyota quality.
Drives very well but plastics and fit are poor. Typical workhorse really.

Are you saying both the proace and Berlingo suffer poor build or just the Berlingo ?

Just saying the van I have, although a good van isn’t up to Toyota build quality.
Toyota haven’t made vans for the last fifteen years for the UK market or thereabouts.
Don’t know much about other brands except my Son has a VW. Nice van but no more reliable than anything else it seems.
I’ve had several VW vehicles over the years. Never had a good one yet.

So, yes the Berlingo Toyota etc will all be the same. They are basically rebadged.
All produced by the Stellantis group

That was what I was getting at - they are all made on the same line - so anyone who thinks that the Toyota is superior is kidding themselves

Vw vans are just as bad the 1.6 caddy engine is terrible.

All vehicles are designed to fail

Proace is the same as dispatch, not berlingo.

Proace/dispatch/expert

Berlingo/partner/combo

Vivaro/traffic/primastar

Agree which is why I think it silly to buy overpriced VW or Ford.

Citroen vans are cheaper and probably more reliable, you seem to hear about fewer problems with them.

The Toyota is definitely more reliable than the Peugeot  I know several that have the dispatch and have had multiple issues that we haven’t had  , the only problem we have had is with the radio/ sat nav and phone link which has now been replaced and works fine . Just Google the problems that they all suffer with Toyota comes out top for reliability.

But how can the Proace be more reliable when it’s the same van as the Peugeot, Citroen and Vauxhall? They are built at the same factory.

No idea but that’s what the general reviews seam to show , they aren’t all the same either there are subtle differences so maybe that has a bearing on it ?..

Aye they have a different badge! The only thing the Proace has over the the others is a longer warranty, doesn’t make it any more reliable.

There are more differences than just badges and nose  cones , many parts are different and not interchangeable , fittings   wiring is totally different too  in many areas  , Toyota has the speed displace on a flip up screen that neither Citroen and Peugeot  have , along with a host of other things , a Peugeot dealer will not work on a Toyota and Toyota won’t work on Peugeot the plug and play diagnostics is totally different , having owned one for the last 4 years I have learnt a lot about the difference, don’t  believe all you read on hear go into the dealers and ask them the differences , you will be surprised.

That’s called clever marketing. Subtle differences which the dealership will have you believe makes their van unique, but essentially it’s the same van.

For a small van I have two partners, 350 & 400L tanks in them….. to be fair they are sound little vans, they carry a full tank no bother with decent mpg

The trafic van is a donkey, av always bought Renaults as a little discount goes a long way but all Renaults are garbage, they look good go fast but just don’t last

Yes I agree essentially it is the same van but there are differences that appear to affect reliability

possibly - but then I see far fewer Toyota's than the equivalent Citroen and Peugeot  - but hey you have done all the research, and  as always  you must be 100% correct - regardless of what others have experienced or know

Not at all Darran, I was in the motor trade for 16 years and still have a lot of contacts that are , going on what many say and my own experience is what I have said .
The vast majority of roof  tile manufacturer s state do t pressure wash them , but you do it and don’t get any problems some do it and cause damage and leaks so there is often more than one answer to an issue
