I was thinking more like added costs like advertising etc. Does a franchise pay there own advertising costs etc or is this included in the franchise fee? I'm asking because the My Window Cleaner one has got expensive half/full page adverts in our local papers and magazines etc. If this is incorporated in the fee's then I can see the value of having a franchise.
i'm pretty certain that with the My Window Cleaner franchise a set amount of work is provided to you, but in order to build you're round fully you then have to pay towards advertising/marketing to get more customers.
I don't know the exact specifics but i've had 3 of their franchisees enquire with me in the past to use me for lead gen at their own expense.
Not all franchises operate this way though.
I work with a franchise that pays for all advertising costs to gain customers, and just hands over a fully built round to the franchisee or builds it up for them without charging them any extra at all.
So for that reason certain franchises are definitely going to be better to work with than others for sure.
