I have never used a generator honestly it sucks like a porn star ⭐️ anyway more than enough.

It’s nothing to do with using a generator, you cannot use mains electricity on site , and when doing hundreds of meters on commercial buildings there isn’t always a convenient power supply and when working outside of normal hours it’s nice to be self  sufficient, the interceptor doesn’t need any any power supply and no cables to potentially trip over either it’s a no brainier and was paid for with two jobs we earn more gutter vaccing than most window cleaners earn per year and it’s just an add on for us .

It’s the no need for cables that would sell it to me and the fact it’s a Honda.

I bought a genny (sky vac  3600w one) last year due to my vac nearly setting a commercial property on fire. They had faulty electrics. Plus like has been mentioned it’s not always easy to find a suitable socket on commercial properties. It’s brilliant and had remote start with is great. Runs 3000w vac all day and doesn’t miss a beat. It’s a nice long term investment. I do a decent amount of vaccing in a year so it’s worth it for my business

I had a generator years ago to do car valeting, but never liked it left running in the van alway feared it would blow up taking the van with it. Dragging a bit generator out of the van could be hassle ?

Kenny always in the van other than big sites where we put it on a purpose made trolley

10 years now and never an issue - same as 2 P/W in each van - no fires yet.  besides you have a great big tank of water in the back as soon as the plastic melts you have a ready made fire extingisher

I will be sticking to my trusty 50 m extension lead :D
Takes up no room in the van, very lightweight,  and no cost in fuel, servicing etc...

I wouldn’t rely on that, if it’s full of water the van will be well alight before the plastic melts. You can put a bottle of water in a fire and the water will boil before the plastic melts.

so no one can the funny side of a post - oh well...

the problem with a 50 meter extension reel is a lot of people don't unwind them fully so they get hot and also burst into flames but hey ho - we can all point these things out

I feel for Kenny personally. Always stuck in the van 😥
We look at them, they look through them.
