Looking for advise on what size gutter vac to purchase

I had a gutter sucker jnr which the motor has blown on. Its probably about 1600w

Just considering whether to fix it or buy a bigger say 3000w plus vac.

Main consideration is if I get a smaller vac I should be able to run it off a cheap generator. A bigger one would likely need a much bigger and expensive generator.

I don't really want to be relying on customers being in to use an extension lead.

Are small vacs ok or will I need the extra power ? Only use the little vac a couple of times and it did OK but had no serious blockage so no idea how it would cope with rammed gutters

The 3000w from GVS is perfect for domestic....don't bother with those little vacs they haven't got the capacity,  you'll be forever emptying it and it will do your head in.

Is there really much difference between say a 3000w commercial vac such as gvs or gutter sucker etc, and say a 3000w wet and dry vac that you can buy for less than 400 quid on ebay ?

they all look like generic vacs with fancy stickers on them or am i wrong ?

Only difference will be the inlet!

No difference - you can buy a side entry inlet and for it in 20 mins and I but carbon poles from the supplier - you get 5 two meter full carbon fibre poles for about £320

We have two  vacs for different types of job , we have a mains electric gripper tank vac  for  shops and ware access is difficult , it’s a very good powerful vac , but the main one is the interceptor but it’s a pricey piece of kit at around 5,5k but if you have the work for it it’s brilliant own engine far easier than having a vac and generator and is surprisingly easy to manoeuvre  Evan on your own , but it’s really meant for larger jobs not houses although we  use it most of the time on everything.

[/quote] I got mine from streamline same vac £700 had it many years there bulletproof I’ve abused it and it just keeps on going  I wouldn’t say expensive as it soon pays for itself

[/quote]I have owned one mate, they are ok but the GVS machine seems more powerful and the attachments for grippa vacs and skyvacs are naff imo.
