Jesus H. Imagine living 30 miles from Middlesborough and you have to drive to the office at the start and end of the day before you go home. Basically you'd be better off on the dole after you've paid for your vehicle, fuel, insurance, kit etc...
Phuck that.
And I expect they are £6 or £7 houses 😂😂
Unfortunately we aren't able to get the prices for window cleaning you guys command down south.
£10 for a 3 bed semi in most areas I've found is about the limit, and yes, he will still want his cut.
So if you want to earn a decent living then you have to have a compact round and run a splash and dash policy. I lost a 3 bed 1940's semi on the main road into our town to someone cheaper. I was charging £8. This was 2 years ago.
If this advert is from who we think it is, then he was thinking about starting a franchise window cleaning business to run along side his current employee/employer business. I'm pretty sure this is a 'test the water' advert with a franchise twist.
He did advise on Facebook that they were reducing the number of vans on the road by one due to the economic downturn late last year. He has lost another this year as well as an employee in that accident.
Last year he advertised for an experienced window cleaner paying from £10 (minimum wage area) to_£14 an hour who will clean windows in the rain and also serve in the shop.
Showing up at the unit before and after the days work just shows a level of distrust, especially when a tracker can do a similar job imo.
He wants all the benefits of an employee but none of the costs.
