I didn't know him but he worked for Teesside Window Cleaning and was in one of their vans at the time.

To his friends and family, please accept my condolences. RIP

Who in their right mind drives a window cleaning van at 80mph ?
We look at them, they look through them.

I think thats in the same vein as ...  im earning 1K a day working from 9.30 to 2.30 with 2 hour lunch

i'm pretty sure if you had hit anything at 80 MPH head on there would be nothing left of a transit cab...

Nobody seems to know the details of the accident. The road was closed just at the city limits. That section of road has a 30mph speed limit. Where they blocked the road is where the speed limit changes to a 60mph. It appears to have been major, such as a head on collision, as the other car's occupants were also badly injured.

wrong as with all  vans and cars the engine is designed to fold under the van or car on heavy front ends again luck of draw on where it hits we were off center so it was chassis leg to leg the enegine of the transit broke in two and both parts hit the floor

But like all things in the real world the engine does  end up around the front occupants legs I have been in the fire service for  35 years and been out to numerous  accidents ware this has happened some fatal others not , better not post the images on here as they are a bit graphic but trust me it happens regularly

we were lucky and it did hit the road like it was surpost to when it snapped the engine mounts

it was the dash and the sheer off stearing wheel that did the damage oh and a plastic coffee mug  from costa that not only shattered  the hip but took out 6 rips and cause internal bleeding while still in the coffee cup holder of  the dash came in that far on a mk7

never seen 3 fire engine teams work so well , not only did they have to cut him out the van was over the hedge with a 15 foot drop which they had to make sure it wasn't going to fall into they had to save people from the other 2 cars he ran into

heroes that drive big red trucks i call them let alone the ambulance crews

on the up side  we laff about it and say there must be easier ways to get a free ride in a helicopter then going though this
