Yeah peanuts to go to some of these places it’s more expensive to have a week off at home, another cleaner I know always goes away he just gets an apartment with his Mrs never used to pay much more than 3-400 quid.

Just over £1400 for 2 of us for a week in a 4 star hotel all inclusive which is not bad.i booked and paid for this holiday in Aug last year...👍

Can’t remember last time I paid £1400 or less for a holiday. 2 kids and wife’s a teacher which means school holidays only = £5k+ every time.

That was a good deal Danny when I booked it.probably because it's slightly before the main season.our holiday to Greece in September cost me twice as much as this one but that's a 5 star hotel.....

Everything's going up that's why I'm putting nearly every job up from next month.

Flights and holidays have gone through the roof recently. Glad I booked our flights for Greece early as they are twice the price if I were to book now.

Holiday cost for school holidays are insane if you were to book a package, atleast double the price. I always book independent for that reason. 3 weeks in Corfu in August for less than £2500 for the family  8)

My wife’s also a teacher, 2 adults 1 child ( daughter is 15 now so it’s 3 adult prices really) We usually fly from Newcastle or Manchester the first week of our summer holidays as the English schools are still in. We usually save around £1k compared to flying from Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Do you split the cost with your girlfriend Daz? or do you pay for the whole lot yourself?

Forecast snow tonight for us and tomorrow for Dartmoor, pointless attempting to drive, let alone work with ice as well so two days off in the warm and dry, no big deal.

Last time we had freezing rain and I stayed home. Traffic news said Police closed many roads owing to so many accidents. Couldn't even stand up to walk on the roads or pavements,  It had rained heavy early hours then froze up solid, one big skating rink.

Cheaper to have a day off than be stranded in a long queue going nowhere for hours on end.
