Just (Modded 😏) Brilliant
« on: March 01, 2023, 02:47:32 pm »
Water board were doing some maintenance in our area last week. Water pressure dropped down to 2 bar. Everyone in the village is moaning about slow showers etc. After numerous phone calls by me they have said they are now finished and have re-zoned the water and the presssure won't change from that. Brilliant. Just got home and we are getting 3 bar. 7 bar with booster. RO is taking water down to 015 without booster and 006 with booster. I'd stopped using the booster as we were getting good pressure before. My neighbour has informed me her friend complained that the pressure was too high and she's got the water board to lower it. I bloody hope she hasn't! My electric bill is going to go up now. I was cutting back everywhere 😥

I guess you’ve checked the stop cock in the road is fully open plus the rising main in your house?

Not that you should touch it but look for a cover in the road or pavement with SV on the cover this will be the service valve and can in most situations be opened more or closed a bit this will regulate the pressure in the main in the road , most water authorities are reducing the pressure rather than fitting new mains they tee into the old main when building new estates as it’s very expensive to put in new ones ,when we moved house 27 years ago I had 110 psi water pressure it’s now 30-40 psi

There legal requirement is to provide  0:7 bar pressure just enough for a combi boiler

My RO will go up to 7 bar with the booster now 😥 it would go past 10 bar with booster before they started messing about.
