I’ve not had any cancel thanks I have had a few push backs on domestics that are 3-400 + though, tell a porky 🐷 I’ve had 1 cancel 2 months ago but only a £30 domestic.
I gained a 60 last week and have a couple to look at next week also so no not doom and gloom,I just don’t want people to get like they  are approaching vinegar strokes and get disappointed when the light comes on so to speak.

totally confused Nigel - your always banging on about how your work is all upper end 100+ - fancy lawyers - captains of industry - celebs - all fighting for you to clean their glass - now it appears your doing £30 bulk standard stuff like us mere mortals

what's going on ???

That's the downside of doing loads of big posh100 quid mansions I guess. You let them dictate to some extent out of fear of losing them, I get it.

Give me a load of semis anyday, none of this electric gated jumping through hoops nonsense. Turn up, splosh some water about rain or shine and if they don't like it oh well onto the next they are ten a penny.

I have a mixture and indeed some large properties have  electronic gates.my own stipulation is that they give me the gate code and I send them a courtesy text thenight before.

I never have a problem with these customers and turn up in all but the worst of weather.

Same, no gate code no clean. I have one who won’t give a gate code so I treat it as a one off and price accordingly.

I advertise, that I offer a regular, reliable, quality window cleaning service, and I do my best to adhere to that.
But, in return, I expect the same from my customers; it works both ways, in my book.
It's taken years, but all my customers are good (yes they cancel for building works etc but none take the p1ss).
When a customer comes along that is 'NO GOOD FOR MY BUSINESS' they get dumped (very politely, but they still get dumped).
Some people would argue that they 'need the work' so will put up with it.
I would say, DUMP, and spend the time getting more customers.
You can never guarantee the type of customer you're going to get, but you can decide how you move forward with it.
Always, always be polite.
"Thank you for calling: if you have a 1st floor flat, mid terraced house, lots of dogs, no parking, no side access, or no sense of humour, please press hold!
For all other enquiries, please press1"

Dumped before the first clean!

It’s annoying isn’t it, I hardly send any texts, I just gate hop/have the code for most gates. A lot are left unlocked.

I always feel like sending a message gives them a reason to say ‘leave it this month’ . Especially with the current financial climate.

I think text messages are handy for stand alone jobs then if their having building work done or whatever it saves me a trip....

Certain jobs its great for access....

As for the 'it gives them an excuse to skip for no good reason' this simply doesn't happen often enough to be a problem

I’ve never felt the need to text daz, rarely do I get there and can’t do the windows.

It seems to be one of those things you either do or don’t do!

If your work is compact  then you aren’t going out of your way ,so  it’s not a problem if it’s a genuine reason not to do a job .

I have no problem texting a smallish proportion of my work for access. Probably around 30%. Takes seconds to do the evening before and ensures no gate hopping. I get zero ‘not today’ replies so that isn’t an issue.

1 not today. Excuse it will freeze up  4degrees) sun was out! Explained it can't freeze unless zero degrees, wasn't having it, Strike 1. I'd rather they just asked if I could leave it as cost of living crisis, respect them for being honest but not timewasting.

That would be a dump for me.

Then they’ll be a lot of people that will be dumping lol I wonder how many will be saying another dump for saying this and that in 6 months,I would be more inclined to hold fire at the moment rather than jump the gun because of skipping the odd clean.
