Good service
« on: January 04, 2023, 11:01:42 am »
I'm quick to moan if somethings not good so only fair to heap praise for good service. Ordered a new battery  yesterday, approx 5pm,and its just been delivered at 10.40am this morning   :) Based in North Wales, delivered to Lincs. Company's called Tayna batteries    https://www.tayna.co.uk/golf-batteries/offers/npc24-12/
Very cheap too.

I've used them for a few years now. Never found anyone else cheaper and always delivered next day. Great company!👍

I've used them as well.

If we order a specific make and variant of lead acid leisure battery, ie. Numax, then we include a note that only they supply this battery.
What so many of the suppliers do is supply an equivalent (in their opinion) if they haven't that one in stock. With my last battery order, one of the suppliers tried to supply a class C battery (non CCA) to replace a Numax class B  (CCA) battery that I required.
Success is 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration and 2% attention to detail!

The older I get, the better I was ;)

There’s a guy on the other forum says Tanya batteries won’t give a warranty with battery’s used for window  cleaning , so might be ok for vehicles but not running systems

Do you know any company that will give warranty on batteries used for wfp?
They are generally sold as 'leisure batteries' and that's not what we use them for.
Personally I would go to Halfords or Euro car parts that type of company as the staff probably wont care what you use the battery for.

Yes I use AGM 200 amp  batteries the supplier knows exactly what they are used for and give a 12 month full replacement warranty and then a limited warranty for the next 2 years , have only had one issue with a pair of batteries when 2 years old , but they aren’t cheap batteries around ££200-250 each if I remember correctly.

Mmmmm... Well thought I'd update this as I posted op. I stand by my original sentiments ie fast delivery and cheap price but unfortunately for the 1st time I've had to deal with after sales as a battery I ordered 3 months ago won't take any charge. From the get go they were looking to weedle their way out of it asking me what I use the battery for and stating its a golf cart battery and as I'm not using it on a golf cart it means the warrenty won't be valid. (this is exactly the same battery Purefreedom have been selling to the window cleaning industry for about 20years). Wasn't having that so they arranged to collect and test (at their cost to be fair), now been told its because its cross threaded so can't carry out test and so warrenty invalid. I had no problem fitting the leads myself, they went in easily and formed a tight connection. Not impressed, awaiting final word from branch manager.

Hate to say it but I told you so , I always buy batteries from a supplier that knows what they will be used for and have that in writing that they will cover warranty if there is a problem, it does  cost a bit more but never had any issues getting faulty batteries replaced doing it this way

What battery did you go for?

I’ve always ordered banner energy bull leisure battery’s from them and never had a problem.

Edit - just seen the link in your op. That seems like a very ‘under powered’ battery for WFP? It’s very small and hardly enough amp hours to cope with a window cleaning day?

I always go for 110-115ah minimum

I've always used them and never had a problem, some have lasted 3yrs +, worse performance was just a year till now. Have you got a link please to the one you use? Its got to fit into a battery box complete with pump and fittings, there is room for something bigger but not too big.

Oh I see, my fault, didn’t read the post about it being for a trolley system!

The one I use is standard size for van systems. Check if banner do a smaller one though as they are very good battery’s,

Have you made sure it's not the charger rather than the battery?

Update, they've now agreed to replace, so fair play to them, got the right result in the end with persistence.

Hi Splash, just wondering what supplier you use for your AGM batteries,  they are powerful at 200amps each, do you use 2 for
your system, how often do you charge them, sorry for all the questions.
best regards
