Hi all, got my first conservatory clean next week with water fed pole, can you guys offer any advice for a novice, ie: dealing with green roof, discoloured upvc, gutters, do i do it all with brush, or will i have to do some cloth work.

     Plug your pole into the customers outside tap and wet the whole of the conservatory fully, then go back to the start and start scrubbing, dip your brush in some soapy water if needed.
     Be careful with the finials as they are not usually very well secured, do not spray too much water up under the plastic bit at the top - it will leak.

     Finally after you have clean the whole conservatory with normal water, change over to pure water and rinse the roof well, and then clean the windows as normal.

Thanks Marc, when you say soapy water do you use fairy or specialist cleaner, have read a previous post and they suggested useing tfr before washing.

I have only cleaned one conservatory and I soaked the whole roof and plastics with pure water then I had two 25L containers ready mixed with gg3 (Glass Gleam 3) and washed the whole thing again.

Then I switched back to pure water for the final wash & rinse and it came up perfect.

Thanks Mathew, do you no of a supplier that could post to me in a couple of days, am i rite in thinking i need gg4 for hard water or gg3 as iam useing pure, not sure if customer has outside tap so may have to do whole job with pure.

Cleantech will post it to you pronto. You are right to think you need gg4 for a hard water area. My tap water is only 028ppm so I use gg3.

Ive cleaned loads of these.....best thing for them is.........................tap water!!

You will find as soon as the green stuff is wet it will shift with some scrubbing. I got some tfr but have used it once, and that was just to see if it made a difference. I think it did, but wouldnt bother getting any til you start getting a few cons cleans.

On the pvcu, use a cream cleaner applied with a sponge then wash it all off. I only use pure water to clean the windows after.

They come up as good as new!!!

Price right too...i have a minimum of £100 although average at bout 150......and i get loads of recommendations, so must be doing something right

If it's a conservatory roof with clear glass, I alway attempt to squeegie off the pure water as best I can.

I do at least one conservatory roof clean per month (a regular booking) and I find that the pitch off the roof isn't that steep to get the water running off it; so dirty water will pool, sit there, and dry dirty.

I find it's a much better and quicker job (less rinsing) by finishing with the squeegie method.

Mick are you doing inside aswell for that sort of money, seems like a good earner at those sort of prices.
I was thinking more like £20.00 for external  wash only then build up cost for additional work like upvc chemical clean polish, how do you price would appreciate your methods for costing out jobs thanks Drew.

No......i dont really do insides unless i have to.......did one cple of weeks ago....100 out 150 inside...the owner was a smoker!!

i do price high, but there again..ive got the roof ladder, all the tools i need, and not 1 customer hasnt been delighted with the end result
