competition in my area with another window cleaner
« on: November 30, 2022, 10:20:34 am »
I have been viewing this forum for a long time but today I had taken the courage to sign up and make my first post.

Currently have an ongoing issue with another window cleaner in my area, don't want to go into much detail but I am planning on putting a leaflet out there stating the following:

"Are your a customer of(his business name) if so join us today and receive an incentive" I do not know what the incentive will be yet i am yet undecided.
I plan not to use his full business name, so for example if his trading name is squeekyclean, I will put down are you a customer of Squeakyclean? The spelling is not the same as his actual business name as there is a 1 letter difference in the wording. This will keep me on the safe side of the law I believe.

Please share your thoughts

Did you not like the answers you received elsewhere?

I didn't see any replies from you after everyone taking the time to offer advice!

I dont recommend using any names or calling a business, it looks childish, unprofessional and puts you in a bad light.

Instead, be better, show customers the good things about you and your business.

Slagging off another company isnt the right way to get more business.

Leaflet steals you want, but be positive and professional.

In just over 30 years I’ve never had an issue with other window cleaners.

There are an infinite number of windows and a finite number of window cleaners.

Unless you're prepared to give the full nature of the "issue" then it's difficult to make a meanifull judgement on your proposed actions, it's seems  a very personal and almost vindictive thing to do though, as a customer I wouldn't be impressed if you posted it through my door.

It's a wind up he's posted this exact same question on "the other" forum and never replied  ;D

Sounds like the OP hasn't thought this through. Or it's a wind up. If he has issues with another window cleaner then pouring petrol on the fire won't help.

Seems strange if he doesn't respond and has put this elsewhere.

So I'll lock this thread then. If he is genuine the OP can start another thread.
It's a game of three halves!
