I have to say that due to the current economic climate I feel a little awkward accepting tips this year knowing that in some cases I am probably better off than the customer giving me it. I will be refusing a few when I see fit and will tell them to put the money to better use.

That would sound a bit patronising I think

I agree..sometimes you gotta let people give you something...they like and want to...

The truth is not everyone is struggling financially, far from it....

I did the same KS a couple of weeks ago a woman tried to give me 20 I said no call it a coffee and we are quits this year,I think to even be expecting tips this year says a lot about you as a person seriously extracting the urine thinking I wonder if I’ll get tips 😂 that’s as sad as the ending to Brokeback Mountain.

I know not everyone is struggling financially....that’s why I said I will be refusing a few when I see fit. I can guarantee you they have appreciated the gesture and haven’t taken it as being patronising whatsoever.

If they want to, you don't need to give them a Christmas card.

Would you tip the postman if you were on £12 per hour and he was on £80 per hour?

Postmen work hard and don't earn anywhere near £80 an hour so I yes I do tip.if they did...probably not. :)

I usually do but all year round.

Fair enough but you'll be giving cards to customers that don't give you one. I thought your reasoning was to give them a gentle nudge to tip you. I know it's not rattling a tin in front of them but I couldn't do it.
I apologise if I'm being too cynical, Daz.

Yeah we tip our Postman lol in the past when I’ve chatted to them they’ve mentioned that once they get to the other side of September they don’t think about leaving because of the Christmas 🎄 tips.

Beats me how anyone can be so crass and shallow to brag about their tips and earnings to be honest.

That’s the way it is here for some - I think it’s a bit of therapy for their ego’s

I do trip our window cleaner he’s bloody rubbish  ;

I tip the bin men
The posty
Hairdresser
Waitering staff at restaurants

I will not tip shop assistants that waft a make shift “Christmas box” under your nose with Xmas staff tips across it in crayon
