If I was to mount my 4040 housing vertically which end should be at the bottom the flush and the pure water out let or does or not matter.

I have a purefreedom van mounted system, the 4040 ro is vertical the purewater  outlet is at the bottom  ,the water then passes through resin bottle into tank

Mine is also mounted verically. In my case I mounted it with the inlet at the bottom and pure and waste outlets at the top. It was easy to do that as I have a champ housing with the inlet port on the side.

Don’t think it matters I’ve seen them in vans sideways or with the valve at the top and bottom,most important thing is that it’s not leaking and if it’s good quality it shouldn’t.

That was my reasoning when assembling my r/o 10 years ago. Any air in the system originally would leave the housing by either the waste valve or the pure outlet.

The way I'm suggesting means that as the water flows in it's filling the housing from the bottom with the air moving upwards above the water through the pure and waste outlets until it's full only of water.  That's my logic anyway.

I speak as a man with horizontal housings in all our seven setups so I have no practical experience of this. I may well be utterly wrong.

All ours are horizontal, I would have though a bottom outlet would stop air locks as there is always a head of water on the outlet ?  Might be wrong but that’s what I would have expected
