So for those guys with 2 leisure batteries running a diesel heater.what amp is your charger?grippatank told me a 20amp charger was best for charging 2 x 105ah batteries in tandem. The only higher amp C tec charger I could find was a 25amp one and that was £300 so i just ordered a like for like numax one from amazon for £98.

Ordering a replacement is probably the best solution. I wouldn't be surprised if you find the reason why your previous one stopped working was because of a blown capacitor or capacitors.
They cost pennies to replace but you have to know what you are doing.

I don't know what I'm doing!😄....5 years of charging my batteries overnight it was gonna stop working at some point.

My numax batteries lasted 4 years before needing replacing

I was told then12v setups that we use potentially are very dangerous even changing batteries should be done by an engineer,2 seconds with the wrong wires touching and you’ll be on  🔥

It took me 10 mins to replace my 2 batteries.the only awkward thing is they are down the side of my tank (without the side door!) so a bit of a squeeze to get them in and out.

Don't believe everything people tell you mate😄

How hard is it?it's 4 screws on the terminals!(2 on each battery).I only had to loosen them off slightly and then it's an easy swap out.job done!

This is what you want. £280 ish but it’s a beast.

I upgraded my batteries I’ve got 360 amps of power in my van (2x180amp) and this charger has kept them in perfect condition for nearly 4 years now. Still no sign of the voltage/capacity dropping.

I think some of the stuff that goes on inside your head is far more lethal Nigel.

Yes but are they wired up in series or parallel ?. That’s an important thing to know

Why would that make a difference?

I used to a a single battery and now I have 2 wired in parallel,  it is still a piece of pi$$ to change them - and I am not even very practical/mechanically minded.

I think if I was to touch them and have a fire etc I would be in trouble as far as insurance goes.

Beacause they are connected up differently

Mine are connected together as 1 there’s wiring under the battery boxes that do this I’ve been told, to look at them from above you’d think they were independent but they aren’t.

Is it still not just a mater of disconnecting the battery from the terminals, removing and connecting new battery to the terminals

Yes but depending how they are joined together it’s very easy to wire them up wrong  , ime talking about 2 batteries not just one , it’s a simple job to do but care needs to be taken as it can easily be done wrong
