Ova 8 users - questions

Couple of questions:

1. I see in the notes: "Section No.1 of your telescopic pole is 100mm shorter than all the remaining sections. This allows the Univalve to be positioned at the end of section one, sitting inside section No.2 and the remaining pole hose through the remaining sections. When the pole is fully collapsed the Univalve will not be visible. Works normally."

Am I right in thinking this would make it impossible to work tubeless? We don't use Univalves but it sounds like the end of the inner section is hidden further up inside the pole so there'd be no way to attach to a Rectus fitting on the bottom end of that inner pole.

2. Do Gardiner goosenecks fit in the OVA poles? We use Gardiner brushes exclusively so it would be helpful if they do and I can 3D print a sleeve to fill the gap.

3. Related to 2, if they don't fit, do you happen to know if the two manufacturers goosenecks would fit together at this point?

i.e. does the Gardiner side of the joint fit on the Streamline end of the joint?

Probably more questions as these are answered.

Cheers,

Vin

Gardiner’s goosenecks don’t fit plastic or carbon also I’ve fitted a Uni valve inside the Ova as you say and if it’s not fitted within millimetres of being correct it’s a nightmare, when the poles collapsed it catches on the base cap or sticks out the end of the pole very slightly.

You are correct a tubeless system will not work on an OVA8 as a standard fitment - I did several home/DIY setups and while they work they need TLC to keep them at their best.

Never had an issue fitting a univalve - currently have 9 poles set-up - not an issue with them working and certainly not poking out the end of the pole - in I would say the univalve works better as its nearer the base of the pole and not close to the brush head

Gardiners brushes will fit streamline socket heads the pitch between the screw holes is virtually identical

You won't get a Gardiner gooseneckk in an OVA8 pole - however there are goosenecks on eBay made for OVA8 that have the same joint as gardeners so you can mix/match if you wanted too

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

Thanks - very helpful indeed.

Suprised they don't offer a normal length and short length section 1 as options. I guess there aren't enough of us tubeless nutters out here.

I could print something- I already print a tubeless hose holder for SLX poles (see below) but stretching that out another 10cm would be a push.
