If your after longevity the Xline brushes are really good especially the dupont....

Lol I destroyed one of them in 3 days totally useless 😂😂😂😂
3 days? I don't think so ;D I have used several they always last me around 12months...

Worst brush I have ever used plus it’s heavy , I sent pictures to x line asking for there thought s they said they couldn’t comment as they didn’t know what the brush had been used for , but apart from the flattened  bristles there wasn’t a mark on it . 3 days and to be fair that wasn’t 3 full days either actual working hours probably less that 16 hours .
I had a rectangular one and also the sill version both lasted just days .
Very strange...I will.agree they're not the lightest brushes but ive always found they last well with good scrubbing power....I find the gardiners brushes that don't last these days.

Used xline sill brushes for years, brilliant with their rinse bar (cold water use), but as you say a bit weighty if your used to Gardiners brushes. Its obvious Gardiners will always persue their usp of having the lightest brushes because it sells brushes but that doesn't always go hand in hand with having the best product for the end user. I wish Gardiners would just loosen their obsession with weight a little and concentrate on quality a bit more, I recently ordered a supreme for the 1st time and have to say am very impressed i just wish they could come up with an internal rinse bar which would mean adding bristles to compensate for the gap needed to fit it but of course that adds weight  but would be a dream to use. The existing rinse bar fitted on the top of the brush is a dreadful idea, about as practical as a chocolate tea pot.

You need to look at what you need to get a window clean and it’s not something as heavy as an Xline brush, the slightest extra weight at the end of a pole is magnified 10 fold at the other end.

I have tried a variety of rinse bars and fan jets don’t like any of them , we prefer 2mm pencil jets , I had rinse bars with the xline  brush and found it hit the raised parts  of the window frames . I gave staff the option asking them what they prefer they all chose the Gardiner’s supreame stiff with pencil jets

I wish gardiners would go back to the original brass jets, way too many bristles missing to accommodate the plastic jet capsules! I've never changed jets on a brush in 18 years of wfp! To me it's solved a problem that didn't exist and caused a bigger one!
The old, original Xtremes with the narrow but thicker stock were SO much better and more effective than the current offerings. The Supremes are my current favourite, I just wish Gardiners would reduce the bristle length by about 5mm- they work so much better in this form.
Comfortably Numb!

The stiff supreme is the best brush for hot water IMO.i just wish they would make a stiff xtreme out of the same bristles as they wouldn't go out of shape half as often!
price higher/work harder!

Tucker.

Ive had a tucker for 5 years and its in better condition than brushes ive had for 6 months, great scrubbing power on it.

Only problem when using it for a couple of hours straight you feel the extra weight slowing you down.

Closest you’ll get in reduced weight is a Gardiner DuPont another one worth a try is the wider DuPont 4 jet version 👌.

Ive got around 8 different brushes on the van, my go to is the extreme 14" with 4 x 2mm jets. I just cant find anything to beat this set up. Its light, fast and accurate around the top edges when needed I can "cut in" like a proffesional painter and decorator. And the rinse is awesome.

Every now and then I fancy a change but end up swapping back in a few jobs.

Yeah I have the same brush brilliant for what you described and overall really apart from leads,I think once you’ve cleaned plain glass with no bars-lead on them with the wider brush it’s harder going back to the narrower brush as it’s far less scrubs up and down needed.

Totaly agree, I have managed to keep one of the old versions with the balck hair in the middle and that works ok for the odd lead here and there if push down hard it seems to glide over them. The newer dupont ones do seem to lift the lead more.

Much prefer the older ones

With some narrower panes you only need once up and dwon where with a smaller brush you have to do that twice, and I couldnt attempt some of the bigger windows with what seems like a toothbrush now them little 10" brushes look funny and your working twice as hard to get the scrubbing done.

Honestly I can’t believe how much quicker it makes you over a standard brush on all stuff but noticeable quicker on leads and small panes,I’ve had a full trim version for a month or so and it’s heavier than the one we are on about I would love to see this full trim version in an Extreme stock be a game changer.

But they are no good for hot water

They don’t last DuPonts but this one has not been too bad but it’s alternated with the flocked wide Extreme so it lasts longer, this new DuPont full trim is noticeable heavier than the 2 I’ve mentioned don’t think it’s extreme weight if you buy one but it cleans superbly well.

I did ask alex about that in another thread but he didn't seem too interested .....shame!

The only thing I can see this brush working on is plain glass stiff-soft it catches on leads and Georgian bars unless you like cleaning sideways up and down all day long.

Been using Gardiner medium soft cill brushes for the last year . Great brushes only ones we use . But I’m finding em too heavy , but the lads love em and don’t want owt else  , they are younger and fitter than me . So I went and got an extreme cill brush this morning. Used it a couple of hours and very happy with it , except a bit bumpy on the edge of some frames . Are the bumpers any good . Forgot to get some to try . Are they any good . ? I’m not being tight , but it means another trip over to my local shop if they are no good . Anyone use em ?

I’ve never needed the bumpers I’ve used extreme sills for years you’d have to be heavy handed and clumsy the mark anything imo.
