Wow, what's with the massive hike in the Resin costs these days.   Has gone up so much over the last few years.   

With this is mind, is the Unger resin any good being slightly cheaper or is it false economy.

Also as I am in a a soft water area I'm resin only for water production.   It worked out the cheapest method back then, but now not so sure.   What's the best RO system these days?

Depends how quickly you want to produce your water. I have a small ro-man 300gpd unit hooked up to a static tank. It produces significantly more water than I use over a 24 hour period.

Thank you, I wasn't going to re-order from them but that price rise is insane!

I found something comparable for £106 but even so.

I think it was Vyair who'd gone up to around £100 and then dropped back again.

Might be something to do with fuel , gas & electric going up?

Resin is manufactured from crude oil, so is subject to the global market fluctuations of that.

It also requires energy to manufacture, which now costs more.

And don’t forget, even if it costs exactly the same to manufacture as it did 3 years ago, there’s no way Purolite, Dow, or any other manufacturer is going to squander the opportunity to hike prices and blame Russia.

My advice is simple, pass the cost on. And do it fast because at the moment, if you increase prices, customers are fully expecting it.

 I only use an Ro 40 40 from the cleaning warehouse Wolverhampton. Cost around £450 if I can remember correctly . I’m in a hard water area and it takes my water from 350ish to 3-6 which is good enough in my book.
If you are buying resin then an ro must pay for itself many many times over

Not for me, I am on a water meter. with my tap water hovering around 50.
that said I have contemplated getting an R O. the resin lately is  not like it used to be

Maybe we should have a thread on CIU listing all the current cheapest suppliers for the consumable parts we use.  Would help keep the WC suppliers competitive

Is this a polishing resin? No, Unger RESIN 25L DIB25 is better quality than resins sold for polishing.

What does it do if it doesn’t polish ? 🤔

    get your self a external water meter no sewerage charges
