Gone from two of us to just me on my own. Got the pure freedom double stack reel at the moment which it think is great….but I’m very tempted with an electric one now there’s only one I would need to buy. So I’d love feedback on the following:
1) For those who’ve had the for a while, what is the biggest plus of having one?
2) how much (if any) breakdowns and lost time do you have with something going wrong?
3) do you carry spares if yes to the above?
4) where do you fix it, towards the back of the van or towards the doors?
5) how have you fixed it to the floor?
6) I’m looking at the powerup 3D, any feedback on these reels?
7) do you used micro or minibore?
what connectors are needed to connect it to the water inlet? Rectus?

Lots of questions I know and some have already been covered in previous posts, but I know the longer you use something your mind can change so looking for the freshest feedback

If you only need one then the purefreedom reelmaster is the best on the market.

Not going to answer your questions it is a complete no brainer

Pure freedom reel master with the extendable hose guide bolted down through van floor near the back doors with literally only a bit of wd40 maintenance on the chain  so far no problems at all with mine so would highly recommend it and also agree it’s a no brainer just purchase one

3d reel . Had it for years not a day missed yet . But definitely buy a couple of spare start stop buttons . Seem to fail easily. Had two lengths of right angle bar welded to tank frame and bolted to the reel to them . At the side door

The ionics rapido for me , stainless steel frame , belt drive , smooth and quiet , has worked faultlessly for a year so far £600 roughly i paid .

Purefreedom for me had mine 5years never missed a beat

I have both for last 10-12 months. Purefreedom only needed lubricating once a months or so. Apart from few times hose getting stuck it has never failed me. 3d reel,I find a utter pain in all honesty,burns out fuses, switches. In my honest personal opinion it should come with current limiter ( soft start) to avoid those issues as it fails too often 8 fuses and two switches in less than 10 months of part time use.
If you decide to go purefreedom  budget allowing go for stainless steel as this will avoid rust marks  all over.

We have 6 3D waterworks reels had them from the launch years ago , only ever had one fuse go pop and that’s it , we also have pure freedom stainless steel twin stack and that is ok but if the hose  goes over the side it pulls the chain off and that’s a right pita to put back on very poor design for  access to it , both reels are very good but obviously the pure freedom ones are more robust ,

No but it will stop it rusting which is probably why it appears to be working

10+ power up 3D’s

Had switches burn out, two belts go and a few fuses pop. 

Used them since launch and bought another 2 a month ago. They do the job.

Thanks for everyone with the responses. It seems like to PF is the best, but currently I don’t have the budget for it. Gona go with the powerup 3D. 

I’m not going to be drilling a hose in the floor for the rollers.

Where does everyone position theirs? End of van or on top of tank?

Don't forget to make sure you buy spare fuses,belt and switches then....

End of the van screwed into plywood is what i do.no need to drill into van floor!

I think I'm going to get the xline ones. I need 2 for my new van I was going to wait till the show in September so I could have a look at them all. The grippa ones look good but by all accounts they are slow and the new power ups seem to break easily.

I know the pure freedoms are the ones but 2 will run me best part of 2 grand.

The xline ones are often discounted 20 percent on black Friday if you can wait that long which brings them in at 400 quid each

The only gripe I have with the PF reelmaster is its really heavy!ridiculously heavy for a reel so it's a bit of a pain when I need to move it to gain access to my hot water system....

It's been great and problem free for over 4 years now so I can't complain!
