Varistream internal settings

Does the Varistream internal dial change the pressure at which it will turn the pump off or change the working pressure/flow rate?

I don't think so. As far as I can tell its simply an on/off function. The other feature of the varistream is the pump speed is adjusted, thats all. Any alteration to flow or pressure happens as a consequence.

I am talking about the little dial inside the box, not the main dial outside. I'm not totally sure what this will change on the unit.

Thanks Macc. I have a 100psi pump with 100m tricoflex but even with the varistream set at max, the pressure out of the jets on my vikan brush doesn't seem that great. I was wondering if the way to increase the working pressure is via that setting, but obviously not.

Hi Bonzer

You can calibrate the varistream to your set up no problem. Attach the 100 mtrs of microbore and fit a pole to it. Then by using the small blue dial inside the Varistream you calibrate it by increasing the setting ONE LETTER AT A TIME until your flow is where you want it to be. You dont have to screw the front back on to try each setting. Just be care full and switch it on to test it. DONT be tempted to up the setting a few letters at a time. This can considerable increase your pressure and you may find fittings etc blowing off. Once its done just pop the screws back in.. Bobs yer uncle  :)

Cheers

Does that affect the pump Andrew when you turn off your water at pole, i thought i read another post that said you use the internal dial to control the pump to avoid cycling of the pump.

Hiya Drew.

No it doesnt cause problems with the pump at all. It actually increases the pressure so that you can achieve a correct flow rate. You can then just use the dial on the front as normal and switch off your water flow at the pole no problem.

As I said above though if you do want to recalibrate do it letter by letter.

Hope all is well and that you are getting on OK with your system.

Cheers

Hiya Andrew, yep everything great picking uo work now but i think i might need a bit more pressure at the brush, if i hold the brush 3 feet from window, the water only just reaches window, not sure if i have it set correctly, its still set at the factory settings.
what do you think should i recallibrate.

3 feet!!!  You have plenty of pressure mate  :)

Probably a bit too much actually. We have ours set so that when you pull off to rinse.. say 5 to 6 inches you can direct the jets where you want them to go. Having said that if water useage isnt an issue for you and you arent drowning the place I suppose more water rather than not enough is a good thing.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the advice. I have normal 1/2" hose, not microbore.

I just tried to change the settings but it didn't affect the flow rate, only the pressure at which the pump was turned off.
