The joys of being self employed…
« on: August 01, 2022, 01:08:44 pm »
Had a  week away in Turkey and 9 phones calls enquiring about fascias/regular window cleaning , 3 txts from customers cancelling due to their bills going up , 2 emails from customers wanting fascia jobs. One ex customer who’s £1.6 million house fell through wants me to carry on too - been a busy week 😂.
I’m way behind schedule now, even had a Turkish worker asking me for a job. They earn around £230 a month here full time hours in 35° heat 😓

Just returned from 2 weeks in Turkey myself. Quite annoying when you get texts/phone calls regarding work as it costs £6 a day for phone usage with my phone plan.

Just broadcast list the most important customers and let them know you’re away it’s the easiest way wish I’d done that years ago, saves all the stuff that’s slightly late and due fussing thinking where are they.

Get the right plan. I’m in Canada with full call (incoming and outgoing) and internet/data usage on my phone, no extra charges.

It’s not as easy as that in Turkey. I’m with 02 and  the best I could get was a bolt on costing £6 per day if you use your phone on any given day. Buying a SIM card over there is a faff as you have to register it.

With sky it’s £10 a month but doesn’t include overseas usage. I just turned data roaming off &  connected to the hotel WiFi. I didn’t get charged for receiving calls and txts but couldn’t make any either , luckily most people have WhatsApp so could still message customers through there

Yes I’m sure Vodafone are the only mobile network to include data roaming in Turkey for free.
