Sorry to be a big head , but if you fit your equipment properly in the van and take your time, don't fit connectors, keep you van tidy i have never had any water spill into the van or leek and if you do have a little water spill just mop up you don't need to overkill

I agree it can be overkill use John Guest fittings I have some on my system that have been on it for over 10 years and not 1 drop of water has ever leaked, brilliant fittings.

Rubber matting has always done the job for me, but I lease so I don’t really care about the long term (3+ year) water damage.

Considering buying new  next time so following this with interest.

I guess the van doesn't come with plastic load liner then Adam?

I just had my system fitted on top of it.
price higher/work harder!

Protectacote is not the same quality as Speedliner but it does the job you have to put it down properly and prepare the back correctly with the thinners etc,you need at least 2 coats of it and after a few years small bits can be scuffed off but all you need to do is touch it up.
Did mine on a dry Saturday looks great when done,if you aim to keep the van it’s a must I wouldn’t rely on rubber matting etc we all get a major leak from year to year.

its a myth that water will rot your van floor.....ive had 14 year old vans and flooded them regularly and not a spot of rust on the floor....

protectacote or speedliner is just not needed....plastic load liner or a rubber mat for your specific van will do for the life of the van(10+ years)

I know, im in 2 minds whether to get the floor done.

Ive got the van booked in for the sides doing next week in plastic but still undecided on the floor.

Being a new van the paintwork is pefect in the back so seems daft to rub it all off and spray something on, afterall paint thats not  damaged should be just as waterproof in theory and as said above if i were more carefull i really shouldnt be flooding it like i do now  ;D

I have a quote of £650 to spray it in Line-x which i think is a good price but it means travelling and a couple of days off i dont know if i can be bothered.

Think i might just put a mat in for now and inspect it in a year, if the floor is suffering then could always get it sprayed.

I also got a quote for this stuff but its almost £500 fitted and is just really composite sheet its not going to stop water getting under it.

I think thats where the main issue would be - water getting trapped under the flooring/matting
my relay is now just over 4 years old and has nothing on the floor and there is no signs of rust - mind you if I had one of those ford rust buckets I'd be worried  ;D

Yeah if water gets under that matting and it will do at some point it’ll rust over time,if you have an almost new van I wouldn’t hesitate to get it done well worth it and you’ll be pleased you did in the long run.

Water shouldn’t get trapped. The floors are shaped with channels. It should just drain to the rear.

That will depend if the van is facing up or down hill or on level ground 😂😂

They get wet and it sweats and doesn’t go anywhere if it’s covered over for months.
