Yes prices have gone up - expensive? Not compared to other chemicals were up to £15 a barrel
About 25% than last year

A few months back Ibadan to wait a week for delivery but now it’s back to 2 days

I’m paying £22 up £4 from last year. They get a delivery every Wednesday so no supply issues at all.

I’ve done a £450 this morning and used just over 25lts  so maybe £30 of hypo this is about average, so really it’s not a big expense

Yes, I was making a comparison to the amount of hypo used and it’s cost,  so the cost of hypo was 7% of the job value if the job had been £45 then the hypo cost would have been 70% of the job value.

My point was hypo cost is not really  a consideration  unless it massively increases in price,  hence my need to give the £450 figure

Hypo went from £12 a drum to £36 per drum down hear a while ago and supplies were very hard to get , it’s now gone back to around £22 per drum and no supply issues , still double the price though .

Yes, unfortunately everything is going up, up UP....

thats why that poor chap on the windows section was charging £600 for a gutter clear  ;D

If you say so Mike, - personally I would have said it runs at 7% of the cost of the job - no willy waving then

but seeing as you would like a comparison on the 3 roof cleans done (1 barrel per job) this week hypo runs in at 0.4% cost  per job  ;)

What you sorry about? ;) ;)

Good question. It would interesting to know who has   been raising  the prices & why , I get it from a farm supplier, farmers tend to be a bit tight fisted so would not put up with rip off prices.

Had a mare a few weeks back, the local supplier I buy it from had a 1 barrel purchase limit!

There have been major supply issues due to china and the big fire at one of the main producers in the USA.

Was told by my supplier that august will be better!

Just got some mole valley, 2 barrels of red label for £33.72  ;D

The red label stuff is only 10% odd, whilst the local pool supplier does the 14-15% stuff.

I’ve found the red label fine

I used to get 15% strength but now the places I buy from only have 10-11% but I still dilute it the same as the 15% and dont find any difference in the cleaning time  or quality of the clean .
