Buildings, roads, rail tracks.......
Do you not think?

Tarmac in this country starts to melt at much lower temperatures that foreign countries due to the fact that we don’t generally get it that hot but I think times will change and they will alter the mixture to raise the melting point but obviously that costs more 😂😂😂 as for buildings they shouldn’t be affected as tolerances are built in for temperature like expansion joints etc especially on bridges . Rail lines there was a bit in the news about problems due   to heat  but again there shouldn’t be if constructed correctly countries far hotter than us don’t have issues, always makes me laugh when we get an inch of snow everything comes to a grinding halt , we as a country are a laughing stock in Europe ,Scandinavia, and Canada that carry on with feet of the stuff .
Yeah, we have a temperate climate and struggle with extremes.
I'm adapting by drinking cider.

If a fan is a manual reel, air con  is like getting an electric one.

You think oh I'll manage then when you get one it's like why didn't I do this years ago.

Same as in the van, driving with the windows down works to an extent but it's not a patch on sitting down eating your lunch with air con on full blast.

One of the best things I've ever bought.

Been toying with the idea of getting a Dyson fan, but soooo expensive, do you reckon they're worth it Zesty?

Keeps us cool when sleeping, pretty quiet and works really well, never felt the need for aircon with it 👍🏼

Only the unfit and overweight need aircon daz.  ;)

Of course the dyson doesn’t cool the air, that’s not what a fan is designed to do. It is designed to move air over your skin, thus cooling you down.

Hence a nice breeze on a hot day keeps you much cooler than a still day.

Never struggle to sleep when we’ve got the fan on.

The trouble I find with aircon is that it dries your throat out. My Mrs has astma and it tends to make her a bit more wheezy than usual. It's still better than not having any when staying in a hot country, but the fan seems to be the way to go for us,especially as the Dyson claims to be so quiet which most air con I've experienced isn't.

Fan cools me just fine, waste of money buying Aircon for the odd couple of days we have a heatwave once a year or 2.

Some people buy ‘superior’ items because it’s not necessarily the item that improves their lifestyle but simply purchasing something they deem to be better makes them feel better within themselves. Bit like retail therapy but with a higher price tag.

I find fans dont do anything when its anything over slightly hot. Certainly when its 25 degrees plus they do naff all. Ive got my fan on right now, its doing its job but its only about 18 degrees just humid.

As for being an unnecessary luxury i disagree, if it improves your comfort and helps you sleep what can be more important than than that.  We have it in work vans to make the hot days more bearable its the same thing.

But who cares, let people roll around in bed sweating their nuts off with a fan blowing hot air on them if it makes them happy.

Jokes aside, air con is lovely mate.

We honestly don’t sleep badly in the heat with the dyson on, it keeps us cool.

I’m suprised your hot now though mate? Its pretty cool now. Do you think you need to check with the doc if your hormones are ok?
