Phoned doctors yesterday and they said someone will get back to me.a doctor phoned up and told me to go online and fill in a form for NHS physio....

At the end of the form it said it could take 6-8 weeks to get treatment... ::)roll

Luckily I've managed to book an appointment with a local chiropodist but he can't fit me in until Monday afternoon.he told me to take 1200mg of ibuprofen every day until he sees me....

Have a good weekend chaps 👍

I'm planning now to go back to work on the 6th June.so that's another 3 weeks off.hopefully that'll be enough time for my foot to heal.

I'm off to Liverpool for a weekend break at a nice hotel with the missus at the end of the month so I want to be ready for that and the week later is queen jubilee week and a music event to attend!

What you gonna about work? You’ll be far behind?

Hopefully you’ll heal up sooner.

I'll just reschedule from where I left off last week.its only 4 weeks off.ill notify a few customers too.

I had a month off when I tore some ankle ligaments(on my other foot)years ago....customers were fine about it,most never even noticed or asked where I'd been! ;D

I think trying to go back too early could set me back even further

You’re jumping the gun setting a date for a return to work before you’ve even had your issue diagnosed Daz. You could have been in front of my physio (who is local to you) last week and been a week into your rehab by now.

Good luck with your osteopath appointment anyway.

Woke up at 7am done 30 mins of basic yoga, stretching, foam rolling and a bit of band work with slow, controlled breathing...

Now I'm gonna sit on my arse until my 230pm gym session. ;D

My foot feels worse in the morning,no swelling at all just achy all along the top of my foot when i put weight on it.i think its extensor tendonitis.if it was broken or fractured the pain would be a lot worse and I'd have bruising and swelling.

I fell off my ladders twice and landed on my heels in the past and I was fine.i know window cleaners who shattered their heels falling off theirs....now that must be horrendous!

Hey dazmond,  i don't get you,  if your van was having engine problems, you would get it straight into the garage to get it
sorted, the same as your Grippatank water heater, to minimise on work Downtime, as we all like our Vans & systems to work
to their full potential, yet you are limping around with a painful foot, taking time off work, hoping it will fix itself, by delaying
seeing a specialist, you could be making the problem worse.

I'll give it until monday and if its no better I'll book an appointment to see someone.itll be 2 weeks next monday since I woke up with a sore foot so any x ray should show up a metatarsal stress fracture for example(before 2 weeks they don't show on x rays).also I'll be able to tell them I've tried ibuprofen, resting it and the foot stretching exercises,etc....without a proper xray it's all guess work anyway even for the specialists
What?

Metatarsal stress fractures often get missed and don't show up on x rays until new bone starts to grow back....
You don't know when you did it, do you?
Fractures can get missed if you don't have them X-rayed.

It's actually 2 weeks tomorrow since i woke up with it.its feeling a lot better now after 3 days of anti inflammatory tablets...

I've had one full week off work with 3 gym sessions and 2 swims to break up the week...I've even took the dog on a couple of short walks this weekend...

I'm gonna clean a couple of commercial jobs tomorrow  morning then see what the chiropodist thinks(appointment not til 420pm)...🙂👍

An inferior extensor retinaculum strain is what I've been diagnosed with....it could take 3-6 months to heal fully or it could be as long as 12 months.... ::)roll

I'm going back on wed to get some special insoles which he said should help...

He said I should rest it as much as possible when not working so no walking the dog for a while....

No idea....the chiropodist said ive probably knocked it and not even realised I've caused a slight injury to my foot and because I'm active with my job, gym, drumming and walking it's added too much strain over a period of time which has caused it to get much worse....being 50 years old doesn't help either.... ::)roll
