My foot feels worse in the morning,no swelling at all just achy all along the top of my foot when i put weight on it.i think its extensor tendonitis.if it was broken or fractured the pain would be a lot worse and I'd have bruising and swelling.
Sorry Daz but you are overestimating the amount of pain of a stress fracture. As previously said I’ve had quite a few and most of the time I’ve been able to atleast carry on working. No amount of foam rolling or stretching will help with a stress fracture, only rest.
You could actually be doing a lot more damage with your self diagnosis and self treatment plan.
Both physiotherapists/osteopaths I know are fully booked this week anyway.the foam rolling and stretching is not just for my foot but my whole body.it makes me feel better while I'm leading a temporary sedentary lifestyle.
So what did you do Danny?carry on working?or did you have a few weeks off with your foot up?
The first time I was forced to take nearly two weeks off then eased myself back in. Wasn’t an option as I was in agony every time I tried to put weight on it.
Second time it wasn’t nearly as bad and I could manage by kind of limping over my big toe. It took ages to heal this time though probably because I didn’t rest, nearly 8 weeks before I was no longer limping.
Third time I did it the day before a 3 week beach holiday so was able to give it plenty of rest without missing extra work.
1st and 3rd time was picked up on X-ray, second time was during Covid and getting X-ray was impossible but physio diagnosed based on previous history.
