I’m working it, well, the morning anyway.

Too many back holidays these days, I’m a man of routine, I like to get up and get some work done.

In always home very early afternoon these days anyway.

me too. I  have a moto ..... little but often..... so I like to work short days , and I  will work the bank holiday but only the morning.
I find I am more prductive this way , and I dont like to be dictated to as and when I will work.
Although on monday I am just putting flyers out.
every spring I have a liitle growth spurt campaign.
next weekend I am going away so its not all work work  ;D

Id work it if i really wanted to but cant think of anything worse than cleaning when people are in the back garden with the kids etc no thanks , summer school hols are the same cant stand it.

I was cleaning a house on thurs and it was one of them where the bloke was stood in the patio doors with a toddler in his arms watching me, with the nipper waving. Well i darent look at him lol, i just stared at the brush head with an iron glare and pretended i hadnt seen him. Horrible nerve racking experience.

I don’t mind the odd bank holiday but it’s getting silly the amount that they’ll be in a couple of years time,3 short weeks in just the last month I’m sure others would agree if we’d had terrible weather over the last month or so down south.

Horrible nerve racking experience.

What on earth is there to be afraid of?
Kids watching me work always makes me laugh, especially when you don’t know they are there and a hand reaches through the blinds to touch the window.

I have a good rapport with all my customers, it's handy to know your customers. Never be afraid of your customers. I could talk for England with my customers, feel at ease with them, their children and pets.
If they are happy with you then they will happily recommend you to other family members and friends, that's where word of mouth gets you new work just for being friendly with your customers,  missing an opportunity there.

I think Adam suffers from a social phobia....I often humour the kids as well as their mums and dad's,dogs and cats! ;D ;D

I love it when kids get up close to the glass on the inside or are with their mum. I play a game with them.

Point to the brush, aim it at them and turn on the tap. They jump as the water squirts on the glass and they then squeal and laugh and I do it a couple more times. Then do a little wave. If they race to the next window I do it again.

Such fun!  ;D
It's a game of three halves!

I embrace this kind of thing. I often tell my customers I’m not only a window cleaner, I’m also a kids entertainer.

Are bank holidays ( or any work days taken off) not really taken off but work offset to another day?

The work you would normally do on that Monday has to be added onto another day  it would only be a bank holiday/day off if you didn’t do the work at all but the customer still paid you

Chat about what?

I find it awkward, hi how are you , yes fine thanks are you? Yes not bad.

Weather's nice today isn't it, yes much better this week isn't it.

Then a silence and stare and im thinking will you just go away please I can't think of anything to say and this is really awkward haha.

Yes I have social anxiety.

If someone has an interest that I have i can chat no problem, but its like I don't know where to start. It's just not natural to me I've always been quiet around strangers and introverted. Opposite around friends and family i dont shut up.

That's my worse nightmare  ;D kids with mum or dad following me round every window. Hate it, people being in the worst part about the job.

I went to a job last week and the bloke was stood on his doorstep talking to someone i drove straight past and went to the next Job and came back later. Didnt work though as he was in the front garden gardening and had to face him anyway  :D
