How Often Should I Change DI Resin
« on: July 20, 2006, 10:46:24 am »
Started running 300gpd ro system last week, have produced 1000ltrs so far, and had some problems with water pressure dropping of in the day, but have found that by producing water at night i get maximum water pressure at around 55-60psi, my problem is the last 200ltrs of water produced last night has a tds of 2ppm, does this mean i need to change my resin in DI vessel, i wasn't exspecting to have to change after only 1000ltrs.

I have just started down WFP route. I was told you can happily clean windows with water at a TDS rating of 12-14, so if thats true I dont think you need to worry until it starts to climb.

Mine fluctuates between 0 & 3 & it seems to still do a good job.

No uncle in west London has been a trad for 20 odd years, done some work with him over the years, and just spent a week with him honeing my trad skills, bloody slow mind he can do 3 windows to my one, but haveing said that i dont do a bad job, no streaks ect.
He is interested to see how i get on with wfp as he had a bad fall a few years ago, and would like to stop useing the ladders, but he's not convinced enough about wfp to spend his cash yet.

I was told you can happily clean windows with water at a TDS rating of 12-14,

Disconnect the hoses from your DI vessel and give it a bit of an up and down and sideways shake. Connect up the hoses, run some water through it and there's an excellent chance that your TDS will have dropped.

If you do this when another window cleaner's with you, say a few magic words as you're doing it, plus a bit of shakey finger stuff, and I'm sure he'll be impressed!

Much cheaper than buying DI resin - that'll be a fiver, thanks!
