There used to be a web designer on here - Nathan something I think. Is he still on the go?

Weird. I've had my now very dated site with him for about 6-7 years. It's still operating.

The last time I spoke with him he had moved away from actual website design.

I had my first website from him over 12 years ago

I recently asked him to design a website for me but he said he was no longer taking on new work , due to his wife being ill sadly.

Hey guys!

I haven't been on this forum for ages, but I got an email today that reminded me of this place so thought I'd check-in.

Sad to say, the rumors are true - I’m not taking on any new projects and in time I will be closing down my web design business completely over the next couple of years.  My wife's health is a big factor in this, but I can also say that even without that, the downturn from Covid got the best of me in the end.

I'm still doing hosting and maintenance for all my existing clients - I'm not going to let anyone down - just not taking on any new work.

For the 9 months prior to Covid, I'd taken it very easy workwise, doing part-time hours while I renovated my new house. I had a big queue of projects waiting when I finally got back to work, so I thought I was doing brilliantly and set for a record-setting year, But the same day I moved into my new house the first lockdown started. Almost everyone (understandably) canceled their projects. With all the uncertainty over lockdowns and the next wave hitting, my business never really picked up again after that. It was just really bad timing.

I started contracting for an American company to keep the bills paid, and they’ve kept me busy for the last 2 years. They recently offered me a full-time managerial position with a rate of pay I couldn’t refuse, so I’m winding down the web design.

It's been a blast chatting with you guys over the last 15 years or so - first as a window cleaner & then building your websites. I wish you all the best in the future!

Best of luck to you Nat, as said it’s been a pleasure dealing with you over the years, always been on hand to sort out any email/website issues, customer service rarely seen anywhere else these days.
