Hey all. Been cleaning now for 9 or so years, I’ve only ever used the Gardiner’s sill brush (apart from flock brushes for lead etc) when I heard that they were discontinuing the old sill brush, I stocked up on a few but the time has come to purchase new ones. What are the opinions on the new ones or which do you find the best every day brush? Thanks

I use the supreme dupont for most jobs except lead. The extra splay I find helps to clean sills.

I was a big fan of the old sill brush too, the supreme DuPont has become my go-to.

I virtually only use xtreme brushes these days...either the stiff or medium bristle...there really is no point in using anything heavier for maintenance window cleaning IMO...I also use a carbon gooseneck and hi mod pole(currently an xline nano 25 footer)
price higher/work harder!

How you getting on with the nano daz ?

I got the 18ft and as much as i try to like it the clamps just aint as good as gardiner and although its loosened up a little its still not that smooth to extend.... that said ive just snapped my extreme again and the nano is defo more robust.

It’s more robust coz it’s heavier and they feel even heavier when you first start using one, same as the Ova High Mod it’s a good pole but it feels heavier blind folded.

Understand what your saying about the clamps , i had misgivings about them right from the start but my 18footer is now16months old and still has the original ones on and thats at least 5 1/2 full time days a week. Ive got a 35ft slx and now gone full circle and actually prefer the feel of the nano clamps although can't deny the Gardiners are better quality. Its way stronger than i expected because i read the reviews about the Extreme and expected this to be similar and the 18ft pole is just 30g more than the extreme, thats just 12x1p pieces or 30 paper clips and obviously a much better price and no replacement sections needed. i love it.

Coming from the sill also , I found the DuPont supreme the best. Can still get the sills and they last forever. I was getting through a new extreme sill every 8 weeks .

I use 1x wide flocked extreme sill 1x wide DuPont extreme sill  for houses with large plate glass windows or Velux.
1x etreme flocked sill 1x extreme medium sill normal size.
I’ve tried every brush there is from these to Tuckers I’ve converted myself, the above 4 brushes cover all work if you want to waste your time with heavy Xline brushes good luck but you don’t need to as long as you’ve got contact on the window that’s all you need therefore the lightest brush possible,if you give these to employees they won’t last as long but they’ll be happier.
Once a heavy brush gives you golfers elbow you won’t care if they last half or a 1/3rd of the time trust me.

According to Gardiner's website - none of those brushes are suitable for use with hot water.

They are fine for me I don’t kill a brush or leave em on forever and with hot water you don’t need to scrub windows like a fool, the flocked brushes should be listed as suitable imo but the others over time can go slightly out shape but hey ho they are feather light unlike the orange bricks 🧱.

It’s in peoples heads they need a heavy large brush you just don’t,a lot of windows on 6-8 weekly cleans are only lightly soiled sometimes just nothing more than dust a big brush that weighs 4 times as much is not needed especially with hot water.

Absolutely fine....its a much better pole IMO than the xtreme (apart from the clamps)..the xtreme is just too brittle....the balance between weight and rigidity is perfect in the nano...I just wish it had gardiner clamps...it would be the best pole out there if it had.....

Can you use Gardiners accessories? I'd hate to part with the swivel gooseneck.

I loved how light this brush is, but don’t you find the jets are too close together?

Nothing worse than a brush that has jets that are to wide imo,in an ideal world they should have 4 jets even on the smaller brushes.
One thing Xline does offer is a decent rinse with that central rinse bar.
