Guy round the corner works for one of the big window cleaning companies.......he regularly starts at 4/5am on commercial even in Winter.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

When I lived in the midlands in the 90’s used to start commercial any time from 5am. Better to avoid heavy foot traffic and no problems getting all the work done. Street lights and shops/commercial units lit up well.

I thought this was going to be a 'lost' Sir Patrick Moore broadcast about window cleaning.

I used to do a fair bit for national companies, you had to start at 4 or 5 to get it all done in time .
Here in Plymouth you could not be in the city centre main streets after 9 am !
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

I do quite few jobs which need to be done out of hours. Usually involve 2am starts. In fact I did one last week, out at 2, back in bed for 8am. 2 days money on it and still the option to go back out for the afternoon if I want. Suit me perfect.

Yes still clean early but not that early anymore! Start about 4/5am and we use a head torch to see what we are doing  ;D

Yes we do. We have done a few shop fronts over the years and done early when there is very little foot traffic about. My lad does the front door inside and outside and I do the front and sides as well as all the signage. In summer it's light, but in winter it's dark. I use a powerful head torch to see.
We have on a couple of occasions gone back to check results and they have been up to my standards. The shop owner is very fussy and we would have heard from her if there was an issue. We also clean their home windows as well.

I cleaned the windows inside & out of an Iceland store once, on a freezing cold February morning 4 years ago in the dark,
They wanted me to clean the windows, once a week there after, but were trying to negotiate the price down to basically
half the price i had charged them, i politely said No.
That was the one and only and last time i cleaned in the dark.   😫 😎

No I dont,  however , one evening last week, I had to pop out and on my way home I did a shop front to save some time in the morning.
If someone had seen me they may have reached the same conclusion. Its human nature to second guess, but things are not always what the seem to be

wow! so many of you cleaning at odd hours - reading this forum I thought we started at 9.30 - had lunch from 12  to 1.30 then knocked off a 3 after a record day  ;D

P&F - I remember that - you posted the photo - you were not happy if I recall...

I have done a couple - grand opening of hotel and bar - full internal clean from 6pm until midnight and a luxury spa in Bedfordshire  11pm start 5 am finish - 2.5hr drive e/w - they were the days  :D
