If you had a employee who has worked for you for 20 years would you give him something for his service.

100%.  20 Years of service means you will have saved so much money and time in replacing them with other staff potentially every few years.  Not only that 20 years of loyalty these days means alot.  I would reward my employee with some kind of lifetime bonus.  Maybe a one off payment of a couple grand, or just increase their wages to reflect the years of service etc.

Obviously in a modern world you don't need to do any of this, but personally from a moral standpoint i would feel like they have more than earned it.

Absolutely, I would buy him a really good present think how much money he has mad you over the past 20 years.
Mines just lasted 7 weeks I over paid him and still didn't appreciate the opportunity i had given him. He had been on the dole for the last 15 months. Time to start the recruitment process again.

If someone has stayed with you for 20 years I’d say you weren’t a bad boss then either works both ways, what’s he gonna get you for being a good boss.

They are out there although I’ve followed rainbows 🌈 never found the end of one and I’ve never seen a Unicorn as yet lol,pay em more than they’ll get doing anything similar if they are of a certain age they are more likely to stick at it.
