I started my business in the winter of 2010, at the tail end of the financial crisis and the worst winter in decades. I’m really not concerned about 2022.
Window cleaning seems to almost be a recession proof business model. Starting up next year would probably be tough, but also not impossible.
I’m planning a big price increase in 2022, as I’ve got some areas that haven’t had a rise in prices since 2010. (Bad business I know)
I’m now at the point where I could lose about 3 full days work and not notice it. I’m always running a few days behind schedule because of the amount of work I have.
Plus as above, they are “predicting” (which usually is worse than reality,) that families will be £100 a month worse off. Most people don’t think anything of spending £25 on a takeaway meal, so £15 for the window cleaning once a month is pretty low on their priorities.
The ones really effected by this will be those on benefits who are living week to week, and they really aren’t the types of customers I have anyway.
Don’t worry and enjoy the holidays is my advice.
