Cmon guys help me out
« on: December 28, 2021, 07:34:28 pm »
I'm having a senior moment. My connection is leaking but on further investigation, the water isn't passing through the black/red connectors.  What am I doing wrong as I've tried 2 pairs of connectors??  It would seem that the little bobbly bit on the left isn’t allowing water though  ???

There are slick connect (original) and slick2 connect (newest version). The two are not interchangeable, it's one or the other together. Once the two parts are connected together, the rubber 'o' ring on the far end of the black part should be 'open', pushed away from the sealing face of the black connector. If this isn't happening then something is wrong and you ain't never going to get any water through.

That is spot on. I ordered them at the same time so surely should be the same version 🤔

I've got slick2 connectors, unless it’s the photo (wide angle lense?) the black part looks to be considerably longer than mine are.

This is bizarre. It looks like I’ve been sent 2 different versions. Black is v2 as it has the ribs on the outside and red is v 1 which doesn’t have ribs and the inside isn’t long enough to push the valve open. Same order as well. I can’t remember where I ordered it as I got them a long time ago for spares😭

Yes that looks like you’ve got the old male version which won’t be compatible with the new black female version.

Splash - that's how I've always had my univalve set up ( should I get a cob on like hman ref. Patents etc🤪)

It would be better if the univalve had the jg fitting moulded direct to the body

We don’t use the uni valve or the slick connectors found the univalve lasted around 6 months and broke , it’s just something else to go wrong , with best part of 30 poles it would also cost  a small fortune 😂😂😂😂😂

Same here, now fitted  straight to the gardiner 'water through' goosneck. Univalve lasts much longer with the new neck as it prevents any crap or dirty water getting down the pole from the top. Current univalve is 6 months old and still looks and operates like new!👍
