come the last job of the day and my flow was like the controller was on 30......took me ages to rinse the glass on some windows!

ive noticed the pump will not dead end either no matter what i do with the calibration,it just runs and runs!

i connected up a DI vessel the wrong way(first time in 12 years)on tuesday(which was the last day i worked)so ive got a little bit of resin in the bottom of my tank,could i have some clogging up my pump causing this issue?it seems like too much of a coincidence for it not to be(i dont have a pump filter)

i had to up my flow to 99 on my 3rd job today as 40 was just not enough,its usually fine,checked calibration and checked for kinks,etc

Don’t you have a filter before your pump ?? If not you should have this will stop this kind of thing from happening, most pump manufacturers insist on a filter before the pump to validate the warranty , sounds like you will have tk take the pump apart and clean out the diaphragms , but if you don’t fit a filter the same thing will happen again with any resin left in the bottom of the tank .

grippatank fitted my system 4 years ago now and didnt put a strainer before the pump.....ive had bits of resin in my tank for years but never had this  problem before

Unfortunately I would have to agree with your assessment. Resin beads in the pump head and blocking the vanes is the most likely cause of the flow rate. When you get chance take the pump head off and clear out the beads. left to long and they can damage the vanes.

The other culprit could be air getting in somewhere.

I did exactly this a few years ago Daz. My system didn’t have a strainer before the pump which is a stupid design.

The only fix is to take the pump apart and clear the beads from the diaphragm. It’s a right pain in the ass job I found.

Personally I’d fit a new strainer and pump, fix the new one when you have a spare hour or two then keep it as a spare.

I've just ordered a new water genie pump which is exactly the same as the one fitted in my heater cabinet....its easy to get to so should be a straight swap out....

The only thing concerning me is the wires going into the bottom of the controller from the pump...I think I'll have to search for  a helpful video on youtube

The pump is integrated into the heater cabinet so grippa had to fit the pump too.....no point fitting a heater without the water pump!

What I'll have to do is drain my tank then use my wet n dry vac and hoover all the resin beads up in the bottom of my tank....what a pain....

I've just thought my controller wires will have bullet connectors and so will the pump wires so should be an easy swap out

Yeah mate.....I'll be flushing the whole system once I've drained the tank and hoovered up as much resin beads as I can.....

Just flushing the system and fitting a strainer will be fine Daz. You’ll be emptying your strainer of resin beads weekly for years to come but they never get through to your pump, atleast mine never have.
