Waterworks Electric reel has died
« on: November 24, 2021, 02:50:55 pm »
Just got a report from the guy who uses the waterworks electric reel - its just stopped working - anyone else had the motor go or is it more likely the switch ?

haven't looked at it yet but helpful directions on testing it and best place to get spares/replacement appreciated

price higher/work harder!

Mines lasted years I’ll get another one of those plastic ones if they have been improved.

Mine has been a real soldier for me the way they’ve designed some they  are not great they’ve got the controller right below where you reel in so it gets nice and wet and covered in dirt from the cloth you use,I thought they might have at least thought about that.

The red switch things arnt the best we replaced ours with the yellow box ones I expect it’s a wire come off the motors are pretty built proof  , let us know the outcome , we have been testing theses reels since there launch for Jordan and not had a motor problem ever and we have 6 of them

As you only use one button, someone on here took it apart and changed the button for the one that was not used..

Most likely the switch. We've had two failures, both the switch.

Only problem I’ve had is the switch.

I just opened up the box and wired it up to the spare button underneath. Two minute job.

Jonny do you mean take the wires off the original button and wire it to the newer button above or below it that doesn’t get used.

Same switch unit. The bottom button is just not used and is spare, it’s free to be used.

The button unit is basically the same type of switch that removal vans with the deck at the back use. They have to lower and lift, so two buttons are needed. The reels only need one button.
