My mum had two. I reckon 6 weeks minimum off as you need to restrict your movement for 6 weeks for your body to grow around the new hip.

I had bilateral (both) hip replacement 4yrs ago at 55yrs. I was off work 8 weeks but I’m  not a window cleaner just exterior cleaning. At 8 weeks I was climbing ladders and scaffold cleaning roofs.  Now I  run,  squat walk up hills and lead a normal active life

1 in 4 vs 1 in 5 for arthritis, so it's still pretty common.

Why?I only know of one old guy that's ever had a hip replacement ever and that's because he fell over (he s in his 80s)....

I've fallen off my ladders twice and landed on my heels both times...I was fine.... ;D...my bones are very strong due to regular resistance training and high protein diet.... ;)

I reckon every avenue will have been exhausted before the NHS decide to do a hip replacement Daz, they don’t just do these things willy nilly 😉

I’ve had all three done.

Go careful with that diet Daz, some areas are obviously very dense!

Lifting weights regardless of what people tell you Daz Will knacker you’re joints and soft tissue m8 if you want to keep fit go swimming or 🚲,nothing like deep squats and heavy leg press for popping and tearing the old Miniscus.

You won’t know what state you’re bones are in until you have an MRI and X-ray you can feel as well as you like they don’t lie Daz.

Had an X Ray and been told by GPs that at some point I will need a replacement hip . I'm now waiting to hear from a specialist
