Can only fit immersion just above half way of a 500 litre tank..it will warm the top section of the water any tips on how I can get the bottom section of water warm??

Buy a cheap fish tank aerator drop into the tank and this will circulate the water.

You can fit it near the bottom of an upright tank. Look on YouTube, easiest way is by feeding the mechanical flange down to the bottom of the tank using wire or similar
