Best way to clean window behind Juliet balcony?
« on: September 01, 2021, 02:59:09 pm »
Been asked to quote for new build house. It’s all easy apart from some upstairs windows are door length and have a sheet of glass on the outside running from the bottom of the window to about half way up to stop people from hurling themselves from the building. I think there’s about five inches of space between the two sheets of glass and don’t think I can get the pole between them. How do you guys clean this type of window?

That is where a swivel gooseneck comes in handy. I get the brush into a vertical position by using the swivel and lifting the base of the pole near to horizontal to get through the bars then clean as normal.

Edit: I didn’t read the OP properly. This is the method I use on wrought iron Juliet balconies.

This
Plus it will revolutionise your working day to the point where you'll not be able to work without one. Work best with the angled connector, the close coupled jet assembly and the new water-through, push fit gooseneck.... all from Gardiners.

It's Glass not bars.
I doubt you can do it.
I don't know of anyone who can or anyway it can be done.
Just clean the top half and tell them they'll have to do the rest from inside.
You could always ask HMan.

Most cannot be done as the glass is to close to the doors we just do as much as we can get to and explain that to the customer at quoting point .

Go inside and trad those you cannot get to.
this is the solution .
but the time involved could add 25 - 50 % to the job .  depending on the size of the property
time is money

Not cost effective for  us or the customer, and it’s also dependent on them being in , wouldn’t even consider doing it from inside.
