For the guys who leaflet drop…
« on: August 31, 2021, 10:04:24 am »
For those who do leaflet drops,

Have you noticed a difference in the response rate depending on whether they were delivered during the week as opposed to the weekend?

I ask as I have noticed whenever I’ve had a lot delivered over a weekend I don’t get calls whereas during the week it seems to be worthwhile. I haven’t collected enough of a sample size as yet though so could just be a hunch based on not enough data but wondered if those who do larger drops have experienced this?

Cannot say a difference between  week and weekdays but from my own personal journey with leaflets....0.4% was my uptake i.e got the customer this was 2006 - 2008 hope it helps.

When leafleting I have found repeat drops work and when you do get work.... I have found dropping a few leaflets either side of your current customers from time to time works.

Think there are a few more members here who have more recent data/experiance .... Good luck.

people tend to address business maters more in a week day than a weekend .  in my experience people may keep a leaflet for weeks , even months or years before they contact you .
on the weekend people are focussed on family time , the generally focus on other matters in the week .
I personally don't think this is down to when the leaflet was dropped

We might get about 15 voicemails on a Monday from the weekend but then 50 calls on the Monday from leaflets dropped the week before. So only a fraction call over the weekend.

Interesting replies thanks guys, I’m going to keep the data and see if my hunch is correct, at least in my area I’ve done lots of drops at weekends and never ended up getting calls from those specific areas, could just be chance and as I say the sample size isn’t large enough but I’ll keep an eye on it.

Certainly agree that people sort things during the week more as my calls for quotes are almost always received during the week.

I've always had a good response from leafleting, but my leafleting guy doesn't work weekends, so you may be right!
I'm cutting down now from 4K a month to 1K a month, as the response has been so good.
"Thank you for calling: if you have a 1st floor flat, mid terraced house, lots of dogs, no parking, no side access, or no sense of humour, please press hold!
For all other enquiries, please press1"
