Cleaning rust spots off of slabs
« on: August 25, 2021, 11:17:22 am »

I’ve been asked by a customer if I am able to remove these what appear to be rust spots from her slabs.

She said it was from weedkiller or grass seed apparently.

I’ve only been cleaning patios for 4 months and this is the first time I’ve come across this so any advice on product to use or method of cleaning would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

that would be correct they use an iron sulphur (or something) to feed the grass - ive had 4 like this, this year

Oxalic Acid is my goto rust remover - mix in hot water apply and scrub - wait 15 mins and re-apply rinse off.

usually works great on stuff like concrete slabs etc..

be aware it is time consuming

Brilliant. Thank you Darran.
I bought some Oxalic Acid a while back actually, I’ll give it a try.
