Always on my old van, i woudlnt was a new vehicle or one you care about as it will scratch but more importantly you are washing off any wax etc so its essentially never protected.Dont care on my van though its gets knokced about anyway, hoses take paint off back doors
I clean my van with wfp flocked brush but i clean car with a spung as its brand new and on pcp so don't want it scratched as we trade in every 3 years want it kept pristine my van gets hammered as its a lwb vivaro lots if lanes with brambles scratching the sides

Nice shiny and black and you cover it in swirls in no time
I like to look after my van and car so no wfp or cheap car washes. Both will ruin your paint work.
