yes Colin - I would up the price - these are more bespoke work - yearly maybe but more like bi-annual - try to aim for more p/h to compensate for the effort and the effect it has on your day.

this is what I have  started to understand now that im getting older.
It knackers me  out , so for it to be viable it has to be at least double my wc rate ,
where I live this just wont happen .
so I have started giving them a number of someone who focuses more on exterior cleaning.

i agrre im 60 this year but not in bad nick,my concern is if you cant do it they will find someone who can and then you may lose the window cleaning

Are you kidding?

I wouldn’t go anywhere near a facias/soffit clean for less than £50 a side. Often it’s more like £150 for a standard 3 bed semi.

It’s hard work, can be fiddly, takes time so should be priced accordingly…

£3 per meter is unbelievably cheap, in fact I’ve never heard of someone charging so little.

I just make my price up on time itll take me...basically wing it....for existing customers I'll charge as little as £50 for a 3 bed semi if their not too dirty as they take less than an hour including their regular windows so I'm still earning £60-£70 an hour on this work....

I've got one to do next monday afternoon for a customer.they are filthy but they will only take just over an hour to clean once I've sprayed them with virosol hence charging her £92(including her normal window clean price of £12 so £80 for the g/f/s).....

Most of the time my customers refuse my price as they think it's too expensive but I wont clean them any cheaper
price higher/work harder!

For non window cleaning customers I charge double my normal rate....I very rarely get the job which suits me fine.....😄👍

I find using my xtreme pole and xtreme standard brush with angle adaptor makes higher g/f/s easier and of course very hot water and virosol if they are dirty.....usually I'll just use hot pure if their not too bad....
price higher/work harder!

Not the case - we do loads of other window cleaners s/f/g cleaning or conservatories - and never pick up the window cleaning (not that I ask mind you) most are very loyal to their windy - and several local guys recommend us for this stuff

You won't get all you quote if you do, then your too cheap and be running around not earning much more than you got for regular straightforward window cleaning - not that s/f/g cleaning is complicated but can wear you out so I aim for double the windy clean rate

Crazy the difference in prices north to south,

I charge about £20 per side to clean so £60 for an average 3 bed

Even then i dont get many jobs as most think im too expensive  ???

what makes me laugh is people turn their nose up at those prices but happily pay £12 for 10 mins work on their windows....little do they realise i can spank off £50/£60 per hour doing nice easy windows, if only they knew eh  ;D

I wouldn’t say it’s a north/south divide tbh. I’m north and charge £120 minimum for 3 beds/3 sides. For £60 I’d rather be getting through my regular window work.

I don't think it's a north south divide either - confidence and enthusiasm play a part in getting the work at the price you want

i actually enjoy seeing the difference it makes to a property cleaning f/s/g jobs esp if their really dirty like the job im doing this afternoon,it makes a change from normal window cleaning although i wouldnt want to be cleaning loads every week...... ;D

regular window cleaning customers that ive had on my books for many years will always get a cheaper add on price compared to a one off customer....its the way things are done up north.....
price higher/work harder!

There definitely is a North-South divide if there wasn’t you wouldn’t be able to buy a 5 bed detached house with ground for 500k in somewhere like Leeds, you could stick a million on that if you stuck it on the back of a lorry and moved it Deep South.

A friend of mine got a 3 bed semi cleaned last week
All fascias and windows, all in £27
I said it would've been £150 at least if I'd been doing the job they just said no one around here would pay that, guess what ,

I don't go around there 😁😁
