Reversing. Waterworks 3D Reel
« on: July 10, 2021, 02:43:57 pm »
Just bought a Waterworks 3D reel. Arrived the other day & looks great. Only problem is that on my layout i want the hose inlet on the left hand side not the right.  Turns out I should’ve ordered a mirrored on from waterworks. They said via whatsapp it’s fine to reverse the terminals but that would put the fuse on the negative. Cant access the motor to change it there but there is a connection box i could open. Or has anyone taken the spindle apart & turned it around that way? Any ideas? I could leave it as is but in the event of electrical failure it would be hard to use the manual winder. If you see the picture below, I’m looking to replace the left hand reel with the 3d. Other than that I could put the 3d in the middle, get rid of both manual reels & keep a claber reel for the odd occasion we work two out of a van.

if you swap the wires over and put the fuse on the negative , thats it , theres no need to access anything

Make sure you have a fuse in the wire connected to the positive battery terminal. DO NOT just fuse the negative!!!!
