Everybody knows what you can earn window cleaning these days. Publicising your individual earnings on a daily basis smacks of ego, attention seeking and validation to me.

It’s ridiculous, there’s absolutely no need for it. However you try to justify it.

says the guy who posted his yearly earnings of £55k a few years ago!talk about pot and kettle mate! ;D

it actually inspired me when you posted that believe it or not...... :)

There is a difference to an odd post with turnover and a daily "record breaking day" thread

It is up to you Daz but really, your biz and it's turnover/profit should really be between you, your accountant and the tax man

Darran
Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

Loads of window cleaners I've known over the years have talked openly about not paying tax etc
One thing about Daz unless he's the ultimate in reverse phychology he must be the  WC who's the most  honest/sharing /braggart (depending on your opinion) I've ever seen or known to post all this in public.
I thoroughly believe that we contribute to the system of the country we live in so I'm in total agreement with Daz on this matter
I'm not into showing off on a public forum myself and most others aren't
This is what Daz will never understand as he has his own unique world view 🙄😄

Why?

Are you feeling insecure ?

Darran

no mate......it always inspired me when other window cleaners used to post their good earning days(and bad)on here......gave me something to aim for(or not in some cases)......

The thing is he really believes what he says and has no clue why no one else shares his opinion on sharing 🙄

Honestly I wouldn’t bother Daz. It does the industry no help whatsoever all the £400-£500 a day posts. The reality is you’ve been trading for 25+ years so you should be earning decent coin by now, really no need to put it all over the forums.

Its no good Deege we'll never convince him.
Also I get what he says about inspiring others with personal bests but in public,,I think not.
I was inspired to raise prices etc by comments on this forum but time moves on, quit living in the past, 10 years is a long time in this industry
Equipment wise he is reasonably on the ball (apart from his pole museum, which incidentally I'd love to visit)
I think if u turned up at his flat in Salford he'd be happy to show you around 😂
Anyway he keeps me happy and entertained 😄😄

Funnily enough my record day was when I was trad about 18 years ago, awesome money, but a LONG day
Not saying how much
Nowadays I'm wiser and price jobs well
If I could be bothered with record days now the money would be ridiculous as my Comercial stuff pays really well.
But I don't need to rush nowadays.

I’m currently doing the biggest softwash job/windows/gutters/fascia job I’ve ever taken on. It’s a very very big complex of managed houses and apartment blocks.

The thing is, I don’t feel the need to talk numbers, it’s really not important Daz.

The money I’m earning out of this job for 5 days work is more than I earn in 3 months usually. It is by far the biggest and best paying job I’ve ever taken on. Nearly five figures.

I’m only bringing it up now to show you that there are a lot of us on here that have been blessed with ‘big money’ days, we just don’t tend to feel the need to talk about it - I’ve learnt that recently having had a couple of chats with some guys on here via email etc, believe me, they are doing very well! You just  wouldn’t know it - and that’s a good thing.

You shouldn’t really find motivation out of other people’s wages, you should find motivation out of your own business goals and targets. Though I agree it can be nice to know what’s possible, but in the end, what’s possible isn’t down to other people’s earnings. It’s down to you.

Sometimes you can talk too much about numbers Daz, the odd post may be welcome, but regular posts on numbers and records comes across as insecure - without necessarily meaning to.

Posting my earnings on here, if that’s ever happened, isn’t the only thing that’s changed. If I did it was also ridiculous.

However Daz, you do it so regularly it’s what you are known for.
